Compare two restaurants before booking

Two venues may suit different needs. Compare the same date, meal and party size, then confirm any requirement that could make an option unsuitable.

The essentials

Start with essential requirements: access, meal composition, service time and party size. Then compare the available menu, total cost and journey. Missing information remains unconfirmed; it is neither a poor rating nor a guaranteed service.

Compare the same outing

Write down the day, meal, number of guests and any fixed departure time. A weekday lunch formula and a weekend dinner describe different services. An outdoor area and a dining room may also offer different menus or conditions.

Agree on the group’s essential requirements before comparing prices. If someone needs an accessible route or a particular preparation, get the venue’s confirmation before choosing based on décor. A favourable overall impression cannot resolve an unconfirmed essential requirement.

A comparison grid without an invented score

For each venue, record the answer and its source: the relevant menu, direct confirmation or a directory field. Keep “to be confirmed” visible until you receive an answer.

Move from the displayed price to the full cost

A cheaper menu may cost more overall when drinks, side dishes or travel are added. Build the same order for each option. If you do not know a price, keep it marked as unknown and ask the venue rather than entering zero.

Calculation example, unrelated to any venue’s prices: a €30 menu plus a €6 drink makes €36 per person, or €144 for four people, before travel and other options. Use confirmed prices in the budget calculator (French). The directory’s € symbols remain indicative, rather than a quotation for a specific order.

Read the sources and their limits

An OpenStreetMap snapshot dates a declaration; it does not establish that a kitchen is serving today. An official menu is a better source for a meal formula, but its season, validity and service must match your outing. An illustration of a dining area is not evidence of a terrace or an accessible entrance.

The saved venues comparison (French) lets you compare up to four directory profiles. Missing fields and partial access indications remain visible. It does not rank quality or confirm availability. Complete it with answers from the venues. Read the data sources and coverage method (French) to understand the directory’s scope.

Choose, then confirm

Keep the options that satisfy your confirmed essential requirements. Use your preferences—menu, budget, journey or space—to choose between them. If a decisive answer is missing, contact the venue or consider an alternative with established conditions.

Send a concise request stating the day, time, party size and outstanding questions. Read the response to check that it concerns the right venue and service. Saving a profile, asking about availability or preparing a message does not reserve a table.

Common questions

Can I compare prices using only the € symbols?

They provide a general indication, not the cost of a full order or a guaranteed rate. Check the relevant menu, drinks, supplements and travel.

Does a missing field mean the service is unavailable?

No. It means the information is unknown in this directory. Ask the venue about your date and requirements before choosing.
