Continuous food service: check the kitchen and the actual afternoon menu
An afternoon opening may offer drinks without the full restaurant menu. Check the food available at your arrival time.

The essentials
Ask what can be ordered when you arrive and when the kitchen takes its last order. Confirm continuous food service for the particular day; an open door is insufficient.
- Give the date and arrival time.
- Confirm the kitchen is serving.
- Ask for the last food order.
Separate three different times
Identify venue opening, food service and last orders. If you want dessert later, ask how the whole meal fits. A café may open well before its kitchen; a restaurant may offer a reduced selection between sittings.
No single menu can be inferred from the word open.
Read the afternoon selection
Establish whether it is the regular menu, a shorter formula or small plates. Ask about quantities and sides if you want a complete meal.
A pastry and drink can suit a pause but do not necessarily answer the same need as a served main dish.
Allow for a changing arrival time
Give a realistic arrival window for an uncertain journey or visit. Ask whether a booking helps and what happens after the last food order.
Keep an alternative whose actual food offer is confirmed, rather than a list of map pins merely marked open.
Check that day’s exceptions
A weekday formula may not apply on Sunday or a special date. Read the official page and call when timing is decisive.
OSM hours provide a starting point, not certification of continuous kitchen service. Ask with a date and time, then retain the response and any agreed changes.

Common questions
Can the directory automatically filter every continuous food service?
The available fields do not describe it sufficiently. Read the hours and ask about the menu for the exact time.
Use these criteria for your visit
This guide concerns dining in France. Current availability, menus and accepted requirements must be confirmed with the venue. A missing directory field remains unknown.
