Restaurant delivery: identify the seller and compare the final basket
The trading name, preparation address and delivery operator can identify different parties. Compare the full order rather than one dish price.

The essentials
Identify the seller and offer, enter the destination before comparing charges and review quantities, adaptations and timing. A directory delivery label does not guarantee service to your address.
- Identify the seller.
- Check the destination coverage.
- Compare the final basket total.
Who prepares and who delivers?
The DGCCRF describes delivery kitchens without a public dining room. Do not assume every delivery brand also has a table to reserve.
Check seller details on the channel used and the contact for problems. A similar brand name is not enough to identify the kitchen preparing your order.
Compare equivalent orders
Enter the delivery destination first: location can affect availability and charges. Put the same dishes and quantities in each basket and read the total before payment.
Separate delivery charges, other stated charges and optional extras. A discount does not make different portion sizes equivalent.
Make the handover possible
Check the building number, entrance, floor and how the delivery person can reach you. Share only the details needed through the intended ordering channel.
At a hotel or workplace, ask where orders are accepted before ordering. An estimated arrival is not a guarantee that it fits a fixed appointment.
Describe an issue precisely
Keep the order summary. For a missing or different dish, identify the relevant line and use the contact stated in the order. Avoid posting personal contact details in a review.
Follow the channel’s actual conditions; this guide does not promise an automatic refund or a set response time. If an important condition changes, confirm it before relying on the delivery.

Common questions
Does an OSM delivery tag cover the whole city?
No. It records a declared service without its area, hours or ordering platforms.
Use these criteria for your visit
This guide concerns dining in France. Current availability, menus and accepted requirements must be confirmed with the venue. A missing directory field remains unknown.
